I haven't paid too much attention to the DeLay situation—at the risk of sounding provincial, he's not my representative—but I'll say this: All of a sudden, the facts of the case and the reactions to those facts sound a lot like what occurred in the last days of our former unctuous governor's tenure.
That similarity surely can't bode well for the House Majority Leader.
Having said that, what is it with House Majority Leaders from Texas? The last two we've had have been crooks. Molly Ivins is obviously right: Texas politicians really are different from normal human beings.
